We're looking forward to jumping into the festive season starting with our November shows in Camden and Brighton.
Christopher Bliss' Literary Salon finally has a venue appropriate to it's grandeur and sophistication. We're launching at Brasserie Zedel in Piccadilly Circus on 27th September. It's a wonderful intimate cabaret space and we're extremely excited about this! We'll announce our guest novelist very soon. In the meantime tickets are available here and you can also purchase a dinner package to eat in their wonderful restaurant before or after the show!
Recently we headed up to Machynlleth Comedy Festival in Wales where we did Christopher Bliss' Literary Salon to a lovely crowd at the Woodland Pavillion. The next day we were invited to a wonderful local bookshop where Christopher Bliss gave a splendid public reading to friendly locals armed with coffee and croissants. We can't wait until next year!
We're so excited to have been booked for Mach Comedy Fest this year. The Welsh comedy festival is absolutely amazing and features so many incredible comedians - this year Mark Watson will be there doing his new work-in-progress as will James Acaster, Robin Ince, Bridget Christie and Nish Kumar among so many more. As far as we know we're going to be in a hut in the woods - the PERFECT place for a unique literary salon for sure!
Tickets are already on sale for loads of the shows: http://machcomedyfest.co.uk
We're absolutely delighted to be included in this superb list that Picador Books have put together of the UK's best poetry and spoken word nights! We can also highly recommend a couple on the list (Bang Said the Gun and Tongue Fu) and can't wait to check out some of the others!
Tonight we're all heading on over to The Comedy Loft in Camden Town to celebrate the life of our dear friend Paul Levy. Paul was an epic comedy fan who came along to so many of our gigs and lent his support constantly. He'd recently begun taking steps into performing and writing comedy himself, attending Meryl O'Rourke's writing course and The Comedy School's stand-up. We were at hit very first stand-up gig at Backyard Comedy last year and were looking forward to many more. Instead tonight we'll be raising a glass to him and raising money for the Royal Brompton Hospital who helped him so much.
The line up for tonight is:
MC James Loveridge, Rich Wilson, Garrett Millerick, Christopher Bliss, Meryl O'Rourke and headliners The Noise Next Door.
We're delighted to announce that this month's guest novelist at Christopher Bliss' Literary Salon is none other than the extraordinary Barney Norris, author of the Times Bestselling novel Five Rivers Met on a Wooded Plain.
We just finished reading it and we can confirm he's kind of a big deal! Seriously go do some reading guys. And then come ask Barney some questions and laugh at resident loveable idiots Christopher Bliss and Luke Courtier as they try to out-novel him.
You can find out more about him here: https://www.penguin.co.uk/authors/barney-norris/1078319/
