Christopher Bliss' Literary Salon
Serious literary salon meets ridiculous character comedy
Christopher Bliss' Literary Salon is the second show featuring award-winning comedian Rob Carter in his guise as the terrible but naively enthusiastic novelist Christopher Bliss. Also featuring Luke Courtier (★★★★★ The Good Review, ★★★★ 'a breath of fresh air' Broadway Baby) and a monthly guest in the shape of an actual, published novelist.
ABOUT THE SHOW
After the success of his debut show Rob Carter is Christopher Bliss, novelist Christopher (★★★★ 'one of this years hidden treasures...consistently, pant-wettingly funny' Fest) decided to share his wit and wisdom with aspiring writers. At this monthly literary salon Christopher will meet and read from the works of published novelists and give his personal feedback. Additionally he'll be reading from his new novels and doling out extra advice to anyone who wants it. Probably all of you?
our guest novelists
Each show we're joined by a guest novelist. They'll read from or talk about their work as well as join Luke and Christopher in teaching the audience writing tips. You can purchase their novels at our events. We've had Ruth Gilligan (Nine Folds Make A Paper Swan, Forget, Somewhere In-between, Can You See Me), John Dorney (Playwright BBC Radio 4, Big Finish Productions, Royal Court Theatre, Hampstead and Soho Theatres. Winner: Scribe Award), Barney Norris (Bestselling author of Five Rivers Met On A Wooded Plain, Winner: Critics Circle Award for most promising playwright), Paul Burston (The Black Path, The Gay Divorcee, Shameless, Star People), Guy Bolton (The Pictures) and Julia Forster (Here We Go Again).
